Presbyopia Treatment
The most common treatment for presbyopia is the use of reading glasses, either from the rack at your pharmacy or via prescription from your eye doctor. Eyeglasses treat the symptom but do not cure the condition.
- Clear lens exchange is a procedure which replaces the eye’s lens with an artificial lens. There are several types of artificial lenses, also called intraocular lenses (IOLs) and you can discuss them with your eye surgeon to determine which one would work best for you.
- Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) uses radio energy to steepen the cornea. That increases the cornea’s optical power so that it can refract (bend) light more strongly and give clear near vision.
- LASIK Monovision corrects one eye for near vision and leaves the other eye as it is for clear distance vision.
